In the summer of 2019 we participated in a ten day artist in residency program at Empire of Dirt outside Creston, BC. The residency is located on 30 acres of largely new growth forest and only accessible by a logging road. This isolated experience afforded us the opportunity to begin creating a new body of work based on the environment we were in.

A Ring of Wall Around this Wood is a meditation on trees, intertwined and interspecies relationships, ecological phenomena, and colonial and contemporary extraction. It is made up of a series of digital videos, India ink paintings, animations, photographs, dye fabric, and natural materials. The work was exhibited at Tilted Brick Gallery.
