Grazing Between Two Worlds

(2021)

For 5 years, beginning in the summer of 2016 we researched the role of grazing as an inter-species act of remediating different grassland landscapes. As part of Remediation Room (curated by Alana Bartol) we volunteered as goat herders. Using weeds that the goats eat on McHugh Bluff in Calgary, we produced fabric dyes, dyed handmade costumes with spots to attached plants, and then led 200 goats from grazing area to grazing area. When stopped the goats were free to eat weeds from our costumes.
